Kudos to Mrs. Marty Heintz, OCS principal, for her remarkable coordination of our Academic Pep Rally! Thanks also to everyone else who helped to make it happen! This year's pep rally (Captain A and the B's) honored those students who maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher with no final grade of C during the 2016-2017 school year. It was AWESOME! As a special treat, students were able to wear "crazy socks" for the day. Cheerleaders and Vikettes formed a "run-through line" for the honorees to make their entrance with upbeat music in the air! Captain A (Coach Braham) buzzed in with the faculty B's and got everyone on their feet trying to catch their "throws" (sweet and salty treats and trinkets). At various times during the pep rally, students were called up to receive awards, including Sonic and Raising Cane's gift cards. During the program, names were pulled for 58 exciting prizes donated by local business friends. Our Vikettes with the help of some pep squad members entertained everyone with a "Wizard of Oz" performance. The Prize Patrol came out often ... and there was even a "faculty flash mob" chanting and clapping! Congratulations to Jesse Roy whose name was pulled for the big prize ... a new Chromebook! The program closed with our Alma Mater and lots of happy students. OC thanks Mrs. Heintz, all of the donors for making the prizes possible and to all who helped, including the Academic Council and PTO moms.
