Congratulations to our winning spellers in the Opelousas Catholic Spelling Bee! In the grades 6-8 division, Grace Lafleur took top honors while Jacob Goulas was the alternate; and in grades 3-5, it was Jordan White as the top speller with Molly Vazquez as the alternate. As first place winners, Grace and Jordan will now plan to go on to the Lafayette Kiwanis Regional Spelling Bee in March to compete with over 35 schools from the Acadiana area. Regional winners will receive very nice prizes ... and the winner of the grades 6-8 division will be sent on an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC for the National Scripps Spelling Bee!
