Opelousas Catholic's NCEA Distinguished Graduate Award recipient for 2019-2020 is Mr. Steven J. Dupuis, Jr.! Stevie, as he is known to many of his friends and family, graduated from OC in 1973, Here he was a 4-year 4-sport letterman and Athlete of the Year in high school and went on to play football at Nicholls State for 4 years.
He opened the Aspen Clinic, a professional medical weight loss and personal training center over 30 years ago. As president and owner, it has expanded to 9 locations with 60 employees and 10 doctors!
He and his wife Laurie live in the Lafayette area and have raised 3 children. Stevie was always very active in his children's Catholic schools, especially in athletics. He is also a very devoted Catholic and has served as a captain at the Lady of the Oaks Retreat House in Grand Coteau for over 20 years, and he helps his church at St. Jules in Lafayette as a Eucharistic Minister. In his community, Stevie has also shown great leadership. He is currently working with a capital campaign to build an In-Patient Hospice Facility for Hospice of Acadiana.
