Meet Jaren St. Clair, an 11th grader from St. Landry Parish. Jaren has been involved in 4-H for eight years, while also being a St. Landry Parish Junior Leader for five years and a member of the Central Region Leadership Board for two years. Jaren is currently serving as the reporter of the Louisiana 4-H Citizenship Board and has served the St. Landry Parish Junior Leader Club as the reporter, secretary, and treasurer while also having served his school's club as the reporter, treasurer, secretary, and vice-president, currently serving the office of president. Jaren has served the Acting 101 Club in Church Point, LA as the vice-president. In addition, he is a member of the Peer Leadership Club and Drama Club at his high school and youth group at his church parish. When asked what 4-H means to him, Jaren describes it, saying, "4-H is an organization that allows members to enhance skills of communication, relationship building, empathy, active listening, reliability, creativity, positivity, and integrity. Those are some of the best skills to possess as you travel life's journey, and what a place to get and enhance them! Without 4-H, I cannot imagine how different my life would be, and that is why it is important to continue to help change the lives of others." In his free time, Jaren enjoys studying law and biology, familiarizing himself with new technology, and spending time with family. Jaren is also a member of his school's cross country, soccer, tennis, and quiz bowl teams. Jaren describes his most significant accomplishment as either being named to the All-Star Cast at the ULL Drama Rally or placing second in this year's 4-H University. Upon graduating, Jaren plans to obtain a Bachelor of Science and go on to medical school to eventually become an Invasive Cardiologist.
