Meet the new Student Body President for 2021-2022! Jaren St. Clair won the recent election and is preparing to lead student government at Opelousas Catholic School with a great deal of leadership experience.
While maintaining an excellent academic record including honors and dual enrollment classes, Jaren is poised in so many other areas. Spiritually, he is very involved in church, being a member of two chorus groups for the past eight years and enjoying the African American Catholic Youth Conference while serving as a facilitator for two years.
Athletically, he loves running! Jaren has participated in cross country for three years, earning All-District honors last year. He also plays high school soccer and tennis.
Acting could also be in Jaren’s future! As a member of the OC Drama Club for three years, he was voted “Best Actor” in 2018-2019. Outside of OC, he has also performed and sang in various Acadiana Theatre Productions for the past five to six years.
Jaren’s leadership skills have shined brightly in high school, steering him to be voted Student Body President. He has served as a Senator for three years and class president for two years. As a 4-H Club member, Jaren has been extremely engaged at all levels … school, parish, region, state, and national! He has held office for five of his six year participation, currently serving as President. Jaren has competed in various contests, served on leadership boards, and has been a certified camp counselor. He won the “Captivating Award” at the State 4-H Junior Leader Conference and was a National 4-H Conference delegate alternate this year.
Thus, there is no question why Jaren was also chosen as a Youth Representative for the Opelousas Downtown Development Program. Yes, all of us at Opelousas Catholic take great pride in Jaren and congratulate him on his next leadership role as Opelousas Catholic’s Student Body President!
